I was wondering what those of you with facial tattoos do for a living? I’m guessing allot are in the body mod industry, but I was kind of wondering what else people do.

i havent got my face done yet , but the neck and hands dont seem to be a prob for me , i own an aquarium shop (retail) , and just takes abit longer to serve customers cause of all the questions "are they real?" "your neck must of hurt" etc etc etc i dont think facial tats will be any different but its all in the attude of the public i guess

Well right now I’m in basically the same situation, although with allot less ink than you. I do have my neck tattooed, and I work retail. I almost never get any reaction to it, although sometimes I get the statement “that HAD To heard!” (I really don’t get it as a question as much as a statement lol)

I guess another part of the question might be where do you guys live as well. I’m going to guess some parts of the world care less than others do.

Eventually I plan on doing a facial tat, although I have allot of other stuff that’s not done, or I’m planning to work on first.

Hey all. I live in Long Beach, S. CA. I work for attorneys as a file clerk,in ultra conservative Orange County. I also am a henna artist. I don't think much about my tat, it's really just a part of my face. I don't think others think much about it, either. Or are they just scared to talk to me???
          Anyway.
          peace

i live in brisbane australia atm , moved from new zealand (its warmer in oz) , australia (well brisbane)seems to be a wee bit behind the rest of the world wiff tats and simple understanding of "different" people , i havent been to nz for 5 or so years now , so will be intresting the different reaction i will get now i have somewat more noticable tats , lol . but as i remember becasue of the maori being sutch a strong culture in nz , tats go down alot better over there , well as long as you dont rip there culture off i guess, things would be fucking dandy if we all lived in the bush and dident have to put up with narrow minded socity , but then again thats somting to look forward to when one gets the shits with eveything i guess , heheh , whats it like with noticable tats over on the U.S of A? (cute facial tat btw maxx!!)

Well I live in the greater NYC area (45 minutes from Manhattan), and for the most parts tattoos don’t get a second look. I work retail and as you can see have a full neck tattoo. I do get some comments from other customers that have tattoos, and it’s sometimes common ground on something to talk about.

Now as for my manager he kind of freaked out a little bit when I got the neck tattoo, and he wanted me to wear a turtle neck to keep it covered. I was doing that voluntarily wile it was healing (healing tattoos are kind of nasty) but after it healed up I tried just leaving it uncovered. Almost no one even gave it a second look. He was trying to get me to cover it again and I refused, and it has never came back up.
Perhaps the fact that I am one of the top selling people in the store has something to do with it. They have since hired some other people with visible ink on there forearms, and neck. And they have made no mention of them having to cover it up. If anything I find it helps because I am one of the more distinctive looking people in the store, so when customers come back, they have no problem finding me to complete there sale.

The only thing I really don’t see tattooed much is the face, so that’s kind of what sparked my curiosity. It is something I definitely plan on inking eventually. I’m just not quite sure what peoples reaction will be to it work wise.

I have never had any serious problems workwise with my tattoos. I have had stupid comments and snap judgements, but that should be expected when you look significantly different than 99.9 percent of the people you work with. I work in a corporate company, and I have moved into a management position, neck tattoos and all. I really do feel that I have had to work twice as hard as the "normal" looking people to get where I am, and I have to constantly explain to my co-workers that I do not enjoy pain. I hope to have tattoos on my face someday, I just need to find an original design.

well, i work at starbucks, and in their book it says tattoos cannot be visible. so, i cover mine up with makeup, and then it's no longer visible.

we'll see how i fare trying to become a high school teacher once i graduate. i'm hoping that i don't have to cover it up, but will if i have to.

I work in a small retirement home as a cook. To tell you the truth, none of them were truly affraid or intimidated by my tatts. (I have 3 on my face) Although they passed comments here and there as well as a couple of questions, everything is allright.

I love my job and they love the food I make. That's all they want to know.

I just started a Massage Therapy business, but I've done marketing and opened a body piercing studio before:) C heck it at www.confidenttouch.com It has in turns been a door opener and a door closer, but those are the ways of looking how you want, and I live in Oakland California:)

I dont seem to have problems getting work. I have many skills & am a nice guy. Sure some people dont wanna give me the time of day but others want me around cuz of who I am & how I look. It just depends on the business & who's running it. I have more problems on the street with people heckling me & wanting to fight, dumbasses.

I have never had anyone want to fight me, though that may be due in part to my being female. I have a small moko kauae and a series of dots on my right eyebrow, which I designed myself, not wanting to steal anyone's ancestral moko, but paying homage to my inspiration. I held a job with the University of Michigan, where I was respected and loved, but I have recently relocated to Phoenix, and the social climate is not nearly as warm as the weather. I have been here since the end of July and have not yet found employment. Any suggestions on where I might seek a more receptive audience?

Since you ask I am an electronic engineer/tech and I want to get face and head tattooed. ever since I saw the pix of those 3 guys standing together couple years ago I wanted to get facial tattooed in the worst way. What I want to do is put on a pattern of covert artwork with several words like faggot and cock sucker buried in it so you would have to stand real close or like 15+ feet away to read it otherwise it just part of the artwork pattern lines Know anyone who can would do such a drawing I can use as a tat thanks Slave Allan
