well how do you guys like face tattoos. Do you prefer ones that just accentuate your natural facial features, or do you guys prefer face tattoos that completely change someones appearance, and make them unrecognizable from before they got the ink?

I prefer facial tattoos that accentuate the face's features. I like the bold black tribal and maori-inspired designs, that flow around the face. I particularly like the half-face tattooing, where you get the before and after all in one!. Can always go full face at a later date :)

I do like the type of facial ink that flows with the contours of the face and scalp. That alone will change someone's appearance. At the same time, I also like the type of design that seems like a mask or hood with only the eyes showing....making one wonder what the person looks like under the "mask". Regardless of the style chosen, I sure give a lot of credit to those who have sat under the needles because it was their thing to do!!!!

ANY facial ink on another person is fascinating to me. For myself, I'm just moving into visible ink (tattooist is working on drawings for the back of my hands and knuckles) and now that I've crossed that threshold, I'm trying to figure out what I want.

I know I want some large and prominent throat ink . . . and my favorite ink on the face is on the chin . . . so I think that's where I will start. I want a general idea of the throat work so I can coordinate it with the chin work. I think I want to do some combination of a lip plate with ink or scarification/cutting in the "goatee" area.

Honestly, I don't see facial ink happening for me for about another year. I want to finish up my sleeves and hands first . . . and there's a fair amount of time and money left before that's done.

By the way, Cyberblade, I've said this before . . . but your decision to move forward with visible ink has been an inspiration to me. You look great. Congratulations!

I find both of them HOT, and each have their merits. For myself, I would only have ink that accentuates my face - for example, any work that I've seen done by Tattoo Joe - is incredible and blows my mind!

I also appreciate the "mask" look as well as piecework on a person. Both styles tell us different stories and have quite a different aesthetic, but for me - I'm gonna see Tattoo Joe for his amazing work

I like face ink that does both: works with your natural features and also is very dramatic. I think it's the line directions in Maori tribal that get to me in particular--broad arches around the mouth, over the eyebrows, maybe because they make you look bigger, fiercer. Tattoo Joe did a guy's face that exemplifies this strongly for me, I think the guy's name is Ron. I like Art Aguirre's face ink as it's very strong and the lines both arch around the mouth and also accentuate a beard. Cyberblade, your line down across your cheek is similar that way, accentuating a beard, and hardcore in arching so high. Also, just the act of wearing your desire so boldly on your body is attractive for the sheer self-assuredness.

for myself i like tattoos that accentuate..on the face..body..where ever..
i was talking about this with my husband...i would like to do something about my ear...he would like to do something coming off the top of the head..
i enjoy the stories facial tattoos and other tattoos have to offer..facial tattoos have been a source of almost fear, even w/in the community..
it's really great that this tribe is here..it's about time we appreciate our more extreme counterparts.
