well i finally after much delay inked the other side of my face, and went back over the rest of my face work to touch it up and fill it all in. I no longer feel out of balance side to side, but the design still does not look "finished" to me. I really don't think i will be happy till i am fully inked.

Wed, January 3, 2007 - 9:45 PMCyberblade - love the ink. You've also hit the only disadvantage in getting ink (at least to me); you never have enough. -

Wed, January 3, 2007 - 10:44 PMI think i hit that "disadvantage" the day i started getting tattoos. hell i started with TWO when i first got inked lol
Yea it really needed to be finished. the way it was before it looked a little off but this is how it was planned to look from the beginning.

Thu, January 4, 2007 - 4:48 AMLooks fantastic. The balance really sets it off. Do you have a plan for the rest of your face at this point? -

Re: And now the other side
Thu, January 4, 2007 - 7:06 PMunfortunately no because we are running into an issue. I am sure you can notice it in some pictures but my septum is deviated. It was broken when i was very little and was never fixed. It is actually pulling on my upper lip and making the whole center of my face asymmetrical. It is something i am very self conscious of and i think i may have to have it fixed before i can tattoo near the center of my face. -

Re: And now the other side
Thu, January 4, 2007 - 7:14 PMdo you think if the ink was centered, you wouldn't notice that points on your face weren't themselves centered? does that make sense?
i mean, when i got this thing on my forehead, i realized i had to choose between "centered on my forehead" and "centered between my eyebrows" --of course, i'm not an idiot, so i chose centered on my forehead, but thought it would be really obvious then that one eyebrow is close to it and the other further away. it's not obvious though, and looks centered. -

Re: And now the other side
Thu, January 4, 2007 - 7:23 PMwell i know no ones face is perfectly symmetrical but the problem is the bone structure of my face is pretty symmetrical my teeth, my eye sockets, my jaw etc all line up. just my septum is VERY off because it was broken. My artiest origonally wanted to extend the black line on the middle of my face straight up my entire face. The problem is my nose is SO crooked if the line went straight up it would be on my nostril, not the bridge of my nose. It does also cause me some breathing issues with my nose so it is something i eventually want to fix. It is something i have always been very self conscious of and i have not posted allot of pictures of my because of how my nose looks. Just how i do other more untraditional mods to improve my opinion of my aesthetics, this is probably the one "conventional" modification i would want to do. -

Sat, January 6, 2007 - 8:27 AMBrilliant work -- i think you achieved things that are most nteresting in facial tattoos -- reshaping the face line
i had experienced nose fixing (mine was smashed in hate crime injury) -- sometimes it really works
but still my face stayed assymetric :-)

Re: And now the other side
Sat, January 6, 2007 - 12:54 PMC'blade.... this is something that none of us noticed until you pointed it out as we are probobly gazing into those amazing, hypnotic eyes. It certainly doesn't detract from the fact that you are a pretty good looking guy :-) .....(Don't panic, I realise I'm old enough to be your Dad!)
I have one suggestion that might work. Avoid a line running down the centre of the nose. Instead, imagine a wishbone shaped pattern that would start between your eyes and split to run down the sides of the nose. I think, with careful placement, that it could look great!

Re: And now the other side
Tue, April 17, 2007 - 11:01 AMoh and just to update ya guys. I could not take the breathing problems i was having with my nose and i finally got it fixed. If you check out my myspace page i have an album of the before and after pictures. It is still not 100% perfect, but it is MUCH better than it was, and i can actually breath now! Now i just need to finish school and get unbroken so i can get more tattoos.
